Monday Morning Rambles - November
Every Monday morning we go out for an explore. Often it’s at Rogers Center, but sometimes we explore other exceptional natural areas in Central New York (and beyond).
Nov. 6, 8:00 AM - Montezuma NWR. We depart from Rogers Center at 8:00 AM. Bring your lunch, water, camera, binocs, etc. Dress for the weather. It’s a full-day trip. Call or email to register.
Nov. 13, 10:00 AM - The Summit Trail at Rogers Center. Some sections are steep. Expect to be out until at least noon. Call or email to register.
Nov. 20, 9:00 AM - Great Swamp Conservancy. We depart from Rogers at 9 AM to carpool up to Canastota to visit this ancient bottomland.
Nov. 27, 10:00 AM - Hillside Trail at Rogers Center. We’ve explored in the spring and summer - how are things in the late fall?

Second Sunday Scribblers

Dec. 4, 10:00 AM - Adams Farm. Meet at the Adams Farm trailhead just off Williams Road.
Dec. 11, 10:00 AM - Rogers’ Sugarbush - not one of our parcels that is routinely available to hikers, we’ll explore our sugarbush to see how it is faring in early winter.
Dec. 18 - Spruce Ridge & South Loop - Meet at the main parking lot.

Winter Solstice Nature Trivia Night
Thursday, Dec. 21, 7-8:30 PM
Do you know your bird trivia? How about botany? The names of famous naturalists? Stretch your mind and celebrate your inner nature nerd. Come as an individual or form a team. This quarter it is too dark to hold trivia night at the fire pit tonight, so we’ll be meet indoors. There will also be special treats tonight to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Quarterly Book Club
Welcome to Rogers Center’s new Quarterly
Book Club! Each quarter we read a new book, with two meetings to discuss what we have read, and the third meeting a trip to a regional destination that ties into the book.
The meetings can be virtual or in-person at Rogers Center, and the trip will be in-person, carpooling from Rogers Center.

Start your week off to a great start by spending time outside.
The Monday Morning Nature Walk invites you to join us for a stroll around the trails. We will usually meet at Rogers and walk the trails here, but on occasion we may head somewhere else, expanding our horizons.
We anticipate these walks to typically last about an hour and a half, but if we go somewhere else, you can expect it to last longer - possibly even a full day!
Bring your binoculars, your hand lenses, and a water bottle. Dress for the weather.

53rd Annual Winter Living Celebration

Rogers’ annual celebration of all things winter returns for its 53rd year. Join us for a day full of outdoor wintery fun: wagon rides, ice rescue, children’s activities, try snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and more.

Maple Magic

All winter the maples have been sleeping, and as the days start to warm in late winter, sap starts to rise. We cannot predict when this will happen, but it could be now. Join us for a tour of our sugarbush to learn how trees are tapped the modern way, and visit our new-to-us sugarshack for a sap boiling demonstration. Call or email to register.
